Flight Agreement
Congratulations!! You have been signed on for a balloon flight with Balloons Over New England.

Please Read and SUBMIT prior to flight.
Warning: asking questions answered here may result in a small fine.

A few things you should know:

  • We fly seven days a week, weather permitting, weather permitting, weather permitting.

  • Ballooning is an outdoor activity! So don't wear clothes you are too fond of. It will not be noticeably colder in the balloon than on the ground.

  • Hiking boots are perfect, sneakers are O.K., sandals are silly and high heels don't fly (so to speak), and they may get wet!

  • Many people like to wear a hat, especially tall people.

  • For our safety (and by extension, yours) we fly only in the calmest of conditions. The pilot has the final decision on weather or not we fly. Our record is unblemished and we aim to keep it that way.

  • Mother Nature is ultimately in charge of this program and she may require that you experience the joy of anticipation one or more times. For all her grace, beauty and power, she does not care about us on a personal level.

  • Ballooning is a NO WHINING adventure. Whining may void your certificate, or we may hit you with another, larger, fine.

  • Motto:" I would rather be on the ground wishing I had gone flying, than up in the air wishing I had stayed on the ground."

We understand that many passengers are uncomfortable disclosing their weight. Our need to know is for safety and scheduling reasons (has to do with 'lift capacity'). The weight information is for our eyes only! So please be as accurate as possible. We have several balloons of varying sizes and choose which balloon to fly depending on combined passenger weight. If it makes you feel better ~ we'll share OUR weight with YOU when we meet!!

Please read the following ~ by hitting 'Submit' you agree to the conditions.
Acknowledgement of Personal Responsibility.
I acknowledge that my participation in a hot air balloon flight is a potentially hazardous activity. I understand that during my participation in hot air balloon flight I will be exposed to above normal risks of injury. I understand too, that although Balloons Over New England has taken precautions to provide safety preparations for each flight, it is impossible to guarantee absolute safety. I understand that I share in the responsibility for safety in flight, and I accept that responsibility.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to our intimate nature, cancellations affect us greatly. If Mother Nature cancels there is never a charge. If you cancel with less than 7 days we will need to charge your credit card in full. We will make every effort to replace your flight and if successful there will be no charge. If we are unable to replace your flight we will issue you a certificate for a flight at a later time. This may be geographically difficult for you to use personally. Our certificates are fully transferable, giftable, popular with charities or you can sell it on Ebay or craigslist. And we do not believe in expiration dates. If I won't buy a certificate of any sort with an expiration date, I surely can't sell one.

The fact that you are reading this means we have spoken, you are 'trip leader'. You are responsible for the rest of your party reading this, knowing what to expect, dressing appropriately and signing the 'acknowledgement of responsibility' part. Your can choose to share verbally if you wish but that is a risk you take. I will tell you that story about that bride who just didn't appreciate the surprise…..didn't fit her "pictures"…..couch on the first night, don't be "that guy".

Physical limitations: For the love of God don't surprise us. We have flown a fellow 101 years old, people with new hips, knees, wheel chair bound. We are willing to work with you. The weather needs to be just right and the basket situation might need to be customized. It is something we should discuss at the time of scheduling, not 20 minutes before flight. If you surprise us, we are unlikely to be able to accommodate you that day. I've got some amazing 'surprise' tales…. 20+ years and 10,000 passengers and one does come across a story or three!!
